). These status pages give up-to-the-minute updates on any degradation in service and will often let you know when they plan to have things back up and running, saving you a call to support.

Most residential internet connections these days can handle this with relative ease. If yours can't, call your internet service provider and ask for a temporary speed increase, connect to your modem directly using an ethernet cable, or try to situate yourself closer to your wireless router.
